Bir diğer önemli kural ise güreşecek develerin kilo, yaş vb.
özelliklerine göre eşleştirilmesidir. Böylece güreşte develerin
yıpratılmaması amaçlanır. Develer eşleştirilirken güreş yetenek-
lerine ve form durumlarına dikkat edilerek ayak, orta, başaltı ve
baş kategorilerinde eşleştirilmeleri sağlanır:
Ayak: Yeni güreşmeye başlayan develerin güreş sınıfıdır.
Orta: Birkaç yıllık güreş tecrübesi olan develerin güreşmeye
başladığı kategoridir.
Başaltı: Yeterince deneyim kazanmış ve baş kategorisinde gü-
reşmeye aday develerin güreştiği sınıftır.
Baş: Deneyimli, iyi oyun ve güreş performansına sahip, kalite-
sini kanıtlamış develerin güreştiği en üst klasmandır. Bir güreş
organizasyonunda bu tür güreşlerin sayısı bir ya da ikidir. İzle-
yiciler arasında en büyük ilgi gören güreştir. Bu grupta sezonun
iddialı ve şöhretli develerinin eşleştiği güreşler çok uzak mesafe-
lerden izleyicileri çekebilmektedir.
Güreşler genellikle saat 10’da başlar. İlk olarak havutsuz daylak-
lar ya da yeni havutlanan daylakların güreşi olur. İddialı güreşler, which the assertive and famous camels of the season are paired

3.3. İzleyiciler
Sportif etkinliklerde olduğu gibi deve güreşleri çevresinde de

Another essential rule is the pairing of the camels to wrestle
according to such characteristics of theirs as weight and age. In
this way, it is aimed to prevent the camels from being burnt out
at the wrestle. When pairing camels, attention is paid to their
wrestling ability and form and it is ensured that they are paired in
the categories of ‘ayak’, ‘orta’, ‘başaltı’, and ‘baş’:
Ayak: It is the wrestling class of those camels which have just
started wrestling.
Orta: It is the category in which the camels with wrestling
experience of several years start wrestling.
Başaltı: It is the class in which those camels which have gained
enough experience and are candidates for wrestling in the category
of ‘baş’ wrestle.
Baş: It is the topmost class in which the experienced camels
with good trick and wrestling performances that have proved
their quality wrestle. The number of such wrestles is one or two
in a wrestling organization. It is the wrestle which receives the
greatest attention among spectators. In this group, the wrestles at
can attract spectators from very long distances.
Wrestles usually start at 10 a.m. The daylaks without any
packsaddle or the daylaks which have just been dressed up with
a packsaddle wrestle first. Assertive wrestles are held at midday
hours, when the number of spectators increases.
3.3. Spectators
As in sporting events, the main element that provides the creation
of some value in economic terms around the camel wrestles is
